My angelic friend

Last night I said a little prayer
so I got down on my knee's
I ask the lord to send me an angel
one with compassion and bling

send someone I can talk to
just be myself and at ease
someone who will understand
and love me unconditionally

he must have heard my prayers
because low and behold she was there
and no matter what I talked about
she listened with what I needed to share

I have never seen my angel
but I feel her in my heart
we have a very special bond
one that can never be torn apart

but you see my angel is not my own
she is there for all to please
soft spoken with her words
as sweet as a summer's breeze

with a halo above her head
sparkling eyes and silvery wings
just a little something I wrote for my angel
my sweet little " Melly"

Sometimes
To lay a kiss on your lips,
so gentle and delicate
is like picking the drops of dew
off the petals of a rose.
I hold you close and feel safe,
sheltered in from the rain,
from the storms that grow and surround me.
I take your hand and look into your eyes
and see a heart made of gold and soul so pure.
You see you are an angel, an angel to me.
I could not help but fall madly in love with you,
the one who stole my heart.

Not Alone
When I thought I was alone you guided me so much farther,
than you ever could have known;
through all the laughs and tears you've made me feel good about myself
and happy to come to school.
You'll sing a song loud or embarrass me just because I'm having a bad day.
We've hated each other over the dumbest things,
but in the end everything turns out perfect.I can talk to you about things
I wouldn't even think of saying around my parents.
I don't like you because you are smart, beautiful, rich, can sing well,
or the way you shoot a ball.
I like you for you and what you are is a great friend.

A Girl I Know
A girl who stands
In the bright yellow sun
Who soaks up all its warm rays and
Delivers them to the ones nearest her.
A girl who stands
Under the twinkle of
The white stars and wishes a wish
For everyone except her own self.
A girl who stands
Atop a slanted roof
Accompanied by me and laughs
A dainty laugh that is heard among all.
A girl who lies
Upon her pillow and
Dreams a dream so amazing that
She runs and enlightens us with its wit.
A girl who sings
A familiar tune and
At the wee hours of the morn
Belches its melody for all to hear.
A girl who stands
At your side no matter
What time nor offense you have done
And hugs your shoulders with forgiving arms.
A girl who stands
As my very best friend
And brings smiles across my face'
Forever and ever I hope she'll stay.

Socks
Two mismatched socks do I wear
down upon my feet;
one is old and loose and worn,
the other snug and neat.
And as I skip and walk and stroll
all about the town,
not a worry's paid the younger sock;
its mate keeps falling down!
Perhaps I should too mention
that the elder sock,
despite its threadbare, stubborn nature,
sure has seen a lot.
And though its younger counterpart,
trustworthy and fair,
may not have seen as many steps,
together they're a pair.
